I have always been a firm believer that all kids are natural artists. The level of talent may vary, but all kids love to create, color and draw.
However, as parents know, kids and art come at a costly price – and that is the mess. I once bought watercolor for my kids and the paint went on everything but the canvas. The floors, couch, and walls now have historic splooshes and splashes of paint and I can’t help but feel pity for my pricey sofa.
Being a supportive parent, I still continue to foster art, but I now refrain from giving the kids materials that will mess up the house. I was almost resigned to never giving them crayons again since they drew on our perfectly white walls.
Then I stumbled upon something amazing.
Magic pens that can be wiped away by Water
With these Water Soluble Graffiti Pens, the house becomes one whole canvass. These pens come in bright and amazing colors which can be used literally anywhere.
You can draw on your floors, you can draw on your walls, you can draw on your refrigerators.
Then just get a piece of wet cloth, wipe it off, and like magic – the mess is all gone. I literally gave a sigh of relief when I actually tested the product.
For those parents who need to do something and have their kids pre-occupied, these pens are perfect. My son spent one whole afternoon doodling on our door.
And this is something fun for parents as well. You can draw with your kids, play tic-tac-toe, draw stories and just find fun ways to spend time with the young ones.
And after all the fun and games, you can simply wipe all the colors away as if nothing happened.
I have always been unsupportive of screen time, ipads, and mobile devices for children. While I know that these are convenient and have their own useful properties, we as parents should encourage more time for creative play. Kids are natural artists, and we should develop their imagination to the best of our ability.
Give our kids art materials, paper and colors, and be amazed at what they can do.
